Ashford Valley is on Friday. Set the tone for the week.
Follow the Harbor City Hawks' staff through one game week in Playbook Pal: the football playbook, drills and practice plans every coach can see.

Every staff knows this group text.
Four practices and a game, every week. The film is watched by Sunday night, but the plan is still in one coach's head. So the fronts go out as a whiteboard photo, the install goes out as a long text, and Tuesday's first period goes to explaining what the scout team should have been running.
Four practices and a game, every week.
Watched the Colts. 3-3 Stack on early downs, Odd Nickel on 3rd and medium.
Which side does the Will walk out to?
Can someone walk me through it before practice?
We get about ten minutes before the kids are out of the locker room.
Monday: Sam draws the Colts' fronts.
Sam draws the 3-3 Stack, the Odd Nickel and the Bear on the Canvas, with no routes, only where everyone lines up, and saves them to an Ashford Valley Scout Team folder. Jordan adds Gun Trips Right, the look their scrambling quarterback likes on 2nd and long. Any coach can bring them up at practice.

Monday night: the staff builds the game plan.
Morgan starts a Page for Colts week, with Tuesday's Practice Plan attached, and tags Sam and Jordan. Sam answers right there with what the film showed and what to run against it.
Odd Nickel is the one to rep.

Tuesday: the scout team lines up right the first time.
Phones out. The position coaches run their own periods with a shared timer, and see at a glance if they're on track. Sam brings up the Odd Nickel, the scout team Lineup says who goes where, and the first period goes to football instead of explaining.

Odd Nickel looked just like the film. Let's get Bear into the red zone period tomorrow.
Sam, after Tuesday's practice
Wednesday: Jordan writes the plan.
Jordan duplicates Tuesday's plan at the desk and puts Bear in the red zone period, and the whole staff has it before they walk out to the field.

Friday: everyone walks in ready.
Thursday was helmets only: a walk-through, then specials. A starter is still sore, so mark the player Unavailable and every Lineup moves up. The Lineups and Practice Plans are readable offline in the iPhone and iPad app, so the staff has them with no signal at the field.

Less time explaining. More time coaching.
The head coach doesn't carry the whole week alone. Every coach knows the looks, the assistants keep things moving, and the whole staff feels ready come game day.
Nobody had to stop and explain a front.
Scout team looked just like them all week.
Nobody had to stop and explain a front.
So proud of this staff. Millbrook is next. I started the Page, so add anything you saw tonight.
On it. I'll draw up their fronts tomorrow.
Questions coaches ask.
What does it cost?
It's free to start today. Paid plans are coming, and every Team that exists when they launch gets Pro free for six months.
Do my assistant coaches need the app?
They can use the iPhone and iPad app or any web browser. Invite them with a link.
Will it work in a gym with no signal?
Readable offline in the iPhone and iPad app. Editing needs a connection.
I'm on Android.
Use Playbook Pal in Chrome and add it to your home screen. A native Android app is coming soon.
